Friends of the Earth International presents its demands for the climate summit in Madrid
When? Monday 2 December at 14:30 – 15.00
Where? Mocha Room, IFEMA Blue Zone, Madrid.
The international delegation of Friends of the Earth, with representatives from five continents, will present their demands for COP25 at an opening press conference on Monday 2 December in Madrid. The world’s largest grassroots environmental network will explain their expectations on key issues at the summit, including: the urgent need for rich countries to increase their emission reduction targets, the threat of carbon markets, the financing from the Global North to South through a fair shares approach, including for loss and damage.
In recent months, we have seen the growth of great social mobilization across the world, demanding measures to address the climate crisis and transform the neoliberal system into one led for and by peoples. Now is the time for governments around the world to listen to citizens from across the Global South and North, as well as the science, and take drastic measures to address the climate crisis.

Amigos de la Tierra presenta sus demandas de cara a la cumbre del clima en Madrid
¿Cuándo? Lunes 2 de diciembre a las 14:30h., comienzo de la Conferencia de Naciones Unidas sobre Cambio Climático, COP25.
¿Dónde? Sala Mocha, Zona Azul de IFEMA, Madrid.
La delegación internacional de Amigos de la Tierra, con representantes de los cinco continentes, presentará en rueda de prensa sus demandas de cara a la COP25 en Madrid. Asimismo explicará sus expectativas sobre temas clave en la cumbre, como la necesidad de objetivos de reducción de emisiones más ambiciosos, los mercados de carbono, así como la financiación del Norte al Sur Global, incluyendo daños y pérdidas.
En los últimos meses hemos visto el crecimiento de una gran movilización social para exigir medidas frente a la crisis climática, ahora es el momento de que los Gobiernos de todo el mundo escuchen a la ciudadanía del Sur y el Norte Global y a la ciencia y tomen medidas a la altura de las circunstancias.
